So, it’s late Friday PM. I have not mustered a post until now, which I am beating myself down on more than my readers would, I know. It’s been a busy week, but my days are always busy – and I don’t have the excuse of an infant or a 9 – 5 job. Frankly, I have no idea where the time flies.
If I had to tell you what I did this week, I’d be scrambling. I wrote a few blog posts, of course, but mainly for THIS blog, while neglecting the gardening one that I started earlier this year. Today I spent most of the day completing some articles for a German-language photography blog I am a regular contributor to.
My excuse otherwise is, of course, that I am DOING it – I AM gardening – so I have no time to WRITE about it. Yeah, right. I do have all the pictures. What IS correct is that I have no energy left at the end of the day, so I’m focusing on the food side of things.
Today, I got my first real harvest from the aforementioned garden, a bunch of rainbow radishes in white, pink and purple (see photo). I AM SOOOO EXCITED!!! I am hoping for lots more veggies etc. to harvest, mainly so I can take pictures of them. Talk about being OBSESSED.
Tomorrow I get to host my first ever webinar. We’ll be learning about Lightroom 2. If you are a (food) blogger and would like to join, please register at this URL. We are starting at 2 PM EST sharp.
Other random thoughts for the day/night – since my brain is CLEARLY fried:
- Innovation in America has always been driven by amateurs, the Wright brothers being a good example. I don’t see why food blogging shouldn’t fall into the same category. Anybody claiming otherwise should be stabbed with their own fork.
- Strawberry shortcake beckons. I will heed the call tomorrow.
- White wine is a God-send. No further comments.
- AAAAANYWAY.

I am so jealous. Those radishes look amazing. We used to have a massive garden at our old house. I’ve been dying to put one in here but have never gotten around to it. I may just do a few things in planters this year then do some raised beds next year. We have little sun, too many old trees.

Thanks! Don’t be jealous, it’s the first thing I was able to harvest – the birds got all of my corn.
If I had room I’d have a huge garden and my blog would suffer but I’d eat really well.
I need to get away from the computer and out in the sunshine.

Why do you think I’m so stressed out? LOL
I have wanted to grow a garden for a while…. you are inspiring me!

If you do, go w/ a square-foot one w/ raised beds. Much more manageable in terms of weeds.
Digging in the dirt and being productive in that dirt is sometimes more important and therapeutic than anything in the world.
Your radishes look amazing!
I kill weeds…that’s how good I am at killing things. *sigh*

My husband used to joke that my middle name was “round-up”, so now I have to prove to him that he was wrong, of course.
Great photo of the radishes. It makes me want to grab them off the screen to slice them up and gobble them up. I am looking forward to the Lightroom class today and excited to learn more about photo post-processing in general plus tips and info on how to use LR.

You just gave me an idea as to what to do w/ them.
And it was great to have you yesterday!
Awesome photo! You are brilliant. Keep being obsessed.
Thanks! I intend to keep going – these were hopefully just the start.
Your radishes are just lovely. I absolutely understand the excitement. I have a little “croplet” of 6 artichokes and I’m just beside myself with excitement! I wish I had lightroom too, and I would join you. And I made plans with a friend a couple months ago to do something tomorrow, so I guess it wouldn’t have worked this time around anyway. Hopefully in the future. Have a wonderful class, Sofie!

We had a great time, but you were certainly missed. A few people just downloaded the trial version for LR4. I may be doing this again in June, who knows. And I totally get your excitement w/ the artichokes. Are they hard to grow?
I love that you’re gardening! I’m not as ambitious as I struggle to keep my little indoor herbs alive (as you already know)… LOL I don’t know where the time goes either. I haven’t been able to post in like a week and i’m riddled with guilt. Next post is for Sunday Supper which I’m working on now. I’ll be on the webinar tomorrow! Hubby will keep the kids hostage for 1.5hrs! This is mommy time for me. Seriously. lol

I am so excited to have you join me! And as for gardening, this is the first time I am actually GROWING things, and I STILL haven’t planted my hanging herb garden that I mentioned earlier. *sigh*
Love the colorful radishes. I see them sliced thinly on buttered bread with a little sea salt. More French than German, I’m afraid.

“There’s nothing wrong w/ that.” LOL I LOVE French bread, even tho nothing beats a good German rye.
I wish I had lightroom so I could join you, Sofie. I know you will be brilliant. I also wish I had your radishes – they are beautiful!
